Thank God It's Friday: Today's News

Former England captain, David Beckham, has been dropped from the first team squad by Steve McClaren. McClaren has decided to take his team in a new direction which will not include Beckham. He is leaving the door open for him to come back, but this will not be likely with the exception of maybe a testimonial. Not sure this is a good move on the new bosses part. I would have dumped Sol Campbell, Owen Hargraves and Michael Owen, but not Beckham. He is still the best free kick taker on the team and has such an amazing ability to send the ball to the foot of any player. Big mistake in my opinion, but then again, I'm not the boss.

David James has mmae the move to Portsmouth. Manchester City sold the 34 year old keeper for £1 million. With the addition of Sol Campbell and now James, things could bbe looking up for Pompey.

The deal to sell Jose Antonio Reyes to Real Madrid from Arsenal has now taken on a few potential changes. Looks like Real are willing to trade Baptista and a sum of money to get Reyes. Baptista joined Real Madrid last season, but has struggled to get into the starting lineup. What do they think they will be getting with Reyes. I welcome the possibility of having the big Brazillian Baptista playing up front with Henry, Adebyore and van Persie.

The struggle continues to work out a deal to get Cashley Cole over to Chelsea. Some of the sticking points that are holding it up are about £5 million in valuation price and who will pick up Cole's £1 million bonus this year. There is a possibility that if Cole really wants to move that he will have to forgo the bonus to get this all worked out. TH14 has been talking publically and has expressed that he would really like Cole to stay at Arsenal. I don't care either way. The guy is talented and has done a lot for Arsenal. I would only want him to stay if his heart was in it.

Thomas Gravesen looks to be ready to make a move from Real Madrid back to England. Currently it looks like Newcastle might pick him up.
