Juve to Appeal Point Loss

If it isn't bad enough that Juve were relagated to Serie B, they were also docked 17 points and are starting the season already that far behind everyone else. The club has lost most of it's top players who all moved on to top club teams around Europe. At this point I think the punishment really has been handed to them. But they won't go down easy.

Juventus lodged an appeal with the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) on Wednesday after deciding against taking their case to the civil court. Fifa had warned Italy could be thrown out of Euro 2008 qualifying if Juve continued their civil action. Not really sure why one club would affect the national team, but they are already in danger of not making it based on their first two qualifying matches.

As much as it sucks for the fans of this club to have to go through with all of this, match fixing is a big deal and the punishment is deserved. They even took away the last two titles that Juve won and handed them to the runners-up. I think is it will be a few years before Juve will recover from all of this. I just hope the lesson was learned.
