Chelsea Officially Worse than Yankees

Chelsea is set to throw some more money around and buy even more top-grade talent -- rumors are that the team is about to make a bid for Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon. Buffon's agent, Paolo Fabbri, told The Sun: "We are aware that [Chelsea owner] Roman Abramovich can offer fortunes. What he needs is to convince the player it's the right move for him...This is not a financial issue, it's about a chance in life." Not a financial issue -- RIGHT.

Buffon has stuck with Juve (so far) despite the team being demoted to Serie B for their role in a match-fixing scandal. Fabbri added: "I don't think he wants to leave Italy but things can change very quickly in football."

This is all very interesting, since very recently Jose Mourinho said about Fabien Barthez: "What we have to try to get is a third goalkeeper and Fabien is not a preferred third goalkeeper. He is a high-profile goalkeeper." I don't blame him -- we all know how I feel about Barthez -- but ha ha, like Buffon is in any way low-profile. I like him though. I just wish he wasn't going to Chelsea.
