Silence in the Footy World

There's nothing fun and exciting to report lately. Arsenal played a friendly in Austria and ended up 1-1. Most of the players player were the younger guys and reserve players. The big test will be some of the upcoming matches in Amsterdam and at Emirates.

Just in - Kolo Toure may potentially have contracted Malaria and could be sidelined for up to a month from Arsenal. Good thing it's the summer, but hope he recovers quickly.

Wenger says he will sign one or two more. I can only hope that he means experience players and not 17 year old future stars. We need people who can impact the team today not in 3 years.

The transfer market is going nowhere at the moment, so we will see what the next big move will be.

I heard David Bentley was being pursued by Spurs. I can't see a kid who came up through the Arsenal youth going to Spurs. It's just not right. I would hope he would refuse to play for them.

The MLS All-Star Team will take on West Ham in Toronto on Thursday night to a sold out Canadian crowd. I loved that South Park movie that beat down Canada - that was awesome! Still Toronto has a great fan base and they have been a great addition to the league. Now if Kansas City could get their new stadium build they might get a good fan base, but right now it's too hot to go see a match here.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has revealed the club are close to securing the services of French striker David N'Gog from Paris Saint-Germain. Guess they need to replace old Crouchy.

It's being reported that Frank Lampard is being offered £150,000 a week to remain at Chelsea. That's a lot of money for a guy to share time in the middle with Deco.

In Beach World Cup news - I know this is such an exciting sport. Brazil will face Russia and Argentina will play Spain as well as France against Italy and Portugal against Uraguay in the quarter finals. I didn't even know they were playing this. I guess I need to find out where I can watch this exciting sport.

That's it for now!
