...let this be true: Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has today revealed that elegant midfielder Xabi Alonso was close to being sold to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

I just really like him, always have, and I think he would be a great complement for Cesc. Even if he is cup-tied. So maybe we'll get him AND that Inler guy.
