Hull City 1-3 Arsenal: It's all Robin

A pretty good showing by all, given that it was away from home and the weather just sucked. But I couldn't take my eyes off of Van Persie and Nasri -- Robin was all over the pitch, and at times seemed to be almost playing a midfield role. Just amazing: all three assists and that free kick of his should have gone in. He really is soo good. Plus he seems to have a drive and determination that I feel like some of the rest lack (not Cesc, obviously). We need that, and it's good to see.

He was like this against..was it Bolton?...as well -- nothing against Toure, but there was only one leader on the pitch today.

Nice work, team. Let's keep it up.

Zenit say no to £10m -- AGHHHH.

From Sky Sports:

Zenit St Petersburg have revealed they have turned down a bid from Arsenal for Andrei Arshavin...Reports suggest Zenit are demanding a £20million fee for Arshavin, but the Gunners value the 27-year-old at considerably less. Zenit spokesman Alexei Petrov has confirmed Arsenal are the only club to have made an official approach for Arshavin, but that their initial offer was turned down.

"I can confirm that Zenit did get an official offer from Arsenal about Andrei Arshavin," Petrov told the Mail on Sunday. It was rejected as insufficient. "They offered about £10m. No new offers have arrived from them since. At the moment, Arsenal are the only club to have approached us about the player."

Jesus Christ.

Arsenal 1-0 Bolton

So another three points, and a seven-game unbeaten streak. I'm not a big Bendtner fan (who is) but he does score important goals, doesn't he? Like last year's game against Spurs, and now this. I don't really care if we didn't play great football. At this point I just want to win. So nice work.

On another note, is it just me or has Robin taken over from Cesc as the heart of the team? Seems like Adebayor just sort of shows up for work, but I sense from Robin a passion and determination that's sadly missing from far too many on the team. Defensive worries aside, I thikn the single biggest difference in this year's Arsenal is the lack of...what should I call it...cohesion? Team spirit? What happened? What do we do to get it back? And when, oh when, does Arshavin arrive? Speaking of which, when I said I wanted Riquelme, maybe I wasn't so far off. We'll see.

On another note, I watched the Liverpool game today, and boy did they look poor. They're not winning the League -- my money, sadly, sadly, is still on Manchester United. Sigh.

Oh just f'ing sign him already

I am tired of hearing about our interest in Arshavin. Now I hear that we're about to sign him for £10million. Fine. He's good, he's a midfielder but can play in a variety of positions -- so if this ends up being true, between him and Nasri we should be set for a Cesc cover. (Incidentally, everyone seems so surprised by Nasri playing so well in the middle of the park -- France fans know that he plays there for the national team. I was in fact surprised last fall to see him on the left.) Anyway, let's get him in and on the pitch.

For the record, for every reason I've said, I would prefer Arteta.

Now...on to the defense side of our squad. I think we need a good center back before we need a defensive midfielder.

Could Theo Be On His Way Out?

I know it's all just rumors at the moment and not much has been said as to what we are doing, but the latest is that we are willing to let Theo go for a cheap price. Sounds like Arsenal haven't made progress in offering Theo a new contract and his expires in 2010. So is it just rumor or is he looking to move on? Interested parties are Man City, Chelsea and Real from what's being said.

I don't think that they should let him go unless he's asking for an insane amount of money, which he really hasn't shown his worth yet. So keeping my fingers crossed we work out a new contract with Theo and move on.

In other news Andrei Arshavin is still on the radar for us. He's cup-tied, but still he can play for us in the rest and help cover with Cesc out. I would like to see him come and play, but who knows if it will happen.

Nothing really happening at this point. Still all rumors and new rumors will be here tomorrow. When I see someone leave or someone actually playing with us, then I will believe it.
